About the project
The Portland Aerial Tram provides a critical link between Marquam Hill and the new community taking shape on the city's South Waterfront. The tram provides a vital connection for Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) and the community while serving as a catalyst for economic development and urban renewal. The Tram is used to shuttle people back and forth from OHSU to the south waterfront. More patients will find it easier to access OHSU. The Tram is equipped with two 79-passenger cars, has a capacity of 980 people per hour in each direction, and travels at a rate of 22 miles per hour.
Safway provided a suspended scaffold for the workers that were completing construction on the underside of the upper tower.
