Phoenix Airport Control Tower

Phoenix Airport Control Tower
Phoenix, AZ
January 2006
About the project
During new construction at the Phoenix Airport Control Tower, Safway used a variety of resources to design a scaffold that could be set on a platform and continue vertically upward approximately 160 feet. The platform began at an elevation of 200 feet surrounding the 70-foot tower diameter.
Working under extreme wind conditions, the crew had to work against gusts exceeding 30 miles per hour at times at a height of 300 feet. As a result of Safways innovative scaffold design and precise load list, the project was finished five days early while maintaining safety at all times.
