Spruce Creek Bridge

Spruce Creek Bridge
September 2006 November 2006
About the project
The Spruce Creek Bridge was in need of replacement steel to strengthen the bridge due to age and deterioration. Access to the structure was made more difficult by the river below and limited access options from above. The Department of Transportation (DOT) chose to provide a suspended access platform to provide worker access.
The majority of the platform was built in the shallow creek below the bridge. Once the platform was completed, the platform was hoisted into position under the bridge.
