About the project
Safway's Kelso branch sold a large amount of QuikDeck™ Suspended Access System for the Lewis & Clark Bridge painting project. The QuikDeck™ Suspended Access System will span 48 ft. by 600 ft. under the Washington side of the bridge.
The bridge spans the Columbia River between Rainier, Ore., and Longview, Wash. This bridge was opened on March 29, 1930, and is 8,192 feet long. The roadway spans the river 210 feet above the water, and the top of the steel spans 340 feet. It was designed by Joseph Baermann Strauss, who also designed the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
